FHD19: Columbia State Historic Park
un jour / 193 miles / 5 heures 24 minutes
Join us for a ride into Mother Lode Country and a scenic route to Columbia. Located in the heart of the California Mother Lode, Columbia State Historic Park is a living gold rush town featuring the largest single collection of existing gold rush-era structures in the state. Visiting Columbia is like traveling back in time to the sights, smells, and sounds of a nineteenth century mining town—merchants dressed in 1850’s attire, a whiff of coal smoke from the blacksmith shop, and the rumble of a stagecoach pulling into town!
We'll stop just short of Columbia SHP for a late brunch at Many's Breakfast House, then take some time to explore. Depending on your personal timeline, this can be the end of the ride for you -- you can leave right away or choose to stay all day -- or you can join me for more Fall adventures-in-the-wind riding through Vallecito, Altaville, West Point, Volcano, and end in Plymouth.
